L’immagine femminile nella Bisanzio dei secoli XI e XII

How did aristocratic Byzantine women live? What were their feelings, desires and ambitions? This work aims to portray the picture of women created by Byzantine intellectuals who lived at the court of Constantinople from the end of the eleventh century through the twelfth century. Special attention has been given to famous and to less well-known women who have left their testimony both as public figures and in their private life.
