Neurofisiologia cartesiana

In the almost thirty year period between the publication of «Discours de la Méthode» by Descartes and «Discours sur l’anatomie du cerveau» by N. Stenone aspects of Cartesian ‘neurophisiology’ are often criticized and discussed; the two most significant moments in this controversy were between 1640 and 1641 following the publication of »Discours de la Méthode» (when Descartes was called upon to clarify his doctrine on the pineal gland) and between 1664 and 1665 immediately after the publication of l’«Homme» by Descartes.
